Three Peaks Triathletes (TPT) is a TriathlonScotland affiliated triathlon club, formed in 1999 by a small group of enthusiasts.
It is based around Inverurie, Aberdeenshire and the glorious Garioch countryside. The name is derived from the 3 tri disciplines and the 3 hills in the Bennachie area – Mither Tap, Millstone Hill and Oxen Craig. Over the years, the club has expanded and now has around 70 members, ranging in ability from novice to elite.
The main Club activity is weekly swim training at Inverurie Pool on Monday at 2030-2130. This is a coached session with lanes for all swim abilities, if you are interested in joining the club this is the place to start or drop us an email. Run and bike training is organised informally through the club members’ mailing list and Facebook page.
The club also organises races and events, most notably the Alford Try-a-tri Triathlon. This event is suitable for novice and experienced triathletes, and will be on Sunday the 28th August 2016 – enter online: at www.resultsbase.net.
Membership to Three Peaks Triathlon Club is £15/year (£5 for Juniors), available online through EntryCentral:
Or download and post the paper form.
The club is affiliated to TriathlonScotland. If you plan to train and compete regularly you should consider joining triathlonScotland and purchasing an annual race licence. Membership will give you insurance cover and reduced race entry fees, and your performance will contribute to the club’s position in the Legends Ranking Series. In 2014 TPT won the award for ‘most improved adult club’!
